Flow rate for uv sterilizers

I have a turbo twist 36 watt uv sterilizer .If I set flow rate for parasites will it still be effective against algae and bacteria or will it be to slow?

With uv, the slower the better. Parasites need a longer cotact time to die than bacteria. You just domt want it so slow that it takes days to turn over your whole tanks volume.
