Hi
I am setting up 240g reef tank with ~55g sump and bubble magus curve 9 inside. I plan to have main water flow in tank using wave makers and have sump for filtration only. Sump will have a skimmer, refugium section with biomedia. Return line will go through UV and has some tee fittings for reactors like biopellet and carbon reactor. I am planning calcium reactor in the future when my budget allows.
Everywhere I read people say they have 10x, 15x and even more water flow through their sumps and in my case I would have a white water river in the sump.

I would like to confirm that having 1x-2x is fine. I heard that a good idea is to at least match skimmer capacity but I cannot get any information what is the flow rate in my skimmer. Please advise.

Here’s a poll if you want to check it out. Read what others have said. I’m in the 3-5x club.
