Hi all
My 1000 litre reef is almost 1 year 10 months old and I'm attempting to stop water changes. I dose major and minor elements and my chateo and gfo keeps my nutrients in check.
I am relying on carbon to remove any nasties in the water and I have a twin reactor for carbon and gfo. I can only achieve a flow rate of approx 30 litres per hour without grinding my gfo up. This means my entire water volume passes through the carbon every 33 hours.
Is this too slow?
