Guys
Does 80x turnover seem excessive, it’s a mixed reef , usual pattern softies on the bottom sps at the top
Euphyllias , nems sway , can’t see their mouths or being battered around
Flow is not directed at any corals just circulates around everything
2 x 8000 lph on pulse 0-8000
1 x 12000 gyre again 0-10800 (on 90%)
1 x 5000 return - 2 bends so let’s say 4000

It’s 400 ltr and I ponder that using pulse mode as above you should maybe half the turnover cos it’s not constant
Hmmm thought's please

20x soft
30x lps
40x sps

General guidelines

For reference I have an SPS dominant mixed reef and my MP40s only max out at 28% intensity.

So need all of the above haha
It's kind of what makes mixed reef challenging but also having the right par levels too. I started out running higher flow but learned our little glass boxes really don't need that much flow at all to be highly successful. I also think high flow contributes to seam failures because people blast continual bursts of water energy against their sidewalls and after a period of time fatigue sets in and seams fail.

Oh.....That is a good point. Makes sense. Never considered this. And this is why I LOVE this forum. It's all the little bits of knowledge one gleans from others!
