Doing my reboot, and am looking into every aspect of resetting my tank. It is 6' 18" wide, 22 deep, 125 gal. Right now I have 3 current 3 flex powerheads and the controller (I just took down the current lights but already had the efluxes).

Each is good I believe for 2100gph. I have a 4th. A jebao, also up to 2100 I believe. From what I've read, I should have 20-40 x's tank. that's around 5000. I don't have a lot of corals: rhodactis, palys, leathers, gsp. So I don't think I need super flow yet.

Right now I have 2 on each side. 1 high 1 low (photo shows them lower as I was blowing sand into piles for removal). Each is set to approx. 50-60 %. 2 are on surge, 1 stream. The jebao isn't in there atm. It's soaking in vinegar so I have a temp in its place. When I put the jebao back in, I can adjust to surge, wave, or stream.

Wondering if there is a better placement. Would love them on the back wall to hide the cords. When I redid the rock landscape I left room along back--the 2 overflows do block.

I'll be adding new medium grain sand.

Do I need 2 down lower to help with detritus? Angeling off back wall toward front, would I have them all closer to the surface. Would 2 angle say from right side to left, and then 2 on left angle toward right? 2 on the back, 2 on sides?

how do you have yours and what do you recommend.

Not as much as maybe they should but I do have 2 return lines on each side at water line or slightly above that move water. that is one thing I'm looking to fix for sure

I have 2 icecap 4K Wavemaker son each end a jabeco 3100 gph on back and a jabao SO-20 that does 1700 to 20000 l/h which really moves water and has different settings and I have no build up sand is always slightly moving

I put the powerheads on back wall. Toadstool closed up. Not sure if it doesn't like the flow. Flow before was across tank, side to side.
Here is how the powerheads point now \ / & \ /. Not sure if this is better \ \ / / The blue ph is temporary. photo with black back and ph's, the are hard to see but 4 spaced along back, on either sides of the overflows
