Just filled up my tank, have two Octo Pulse 4, rated at max 17,000LPH, 4500GPH, same as MP40s but I have it on lowest setting 30% and its displacing a lot of my shallow sandbed.

I've search other 525XL builds and most use 2x MP40s, some even 3 Gyre 250!!
How are you guys running such high flow with a sandbed?

With the Reef Octo pumps, we can angle the powerheads slightly, similar to Nero.
Position:
1st pump-Left side, centre, 5 inch down from water line, angled slightly toward front glass
2nd pump: right side , on back wall, about 4 inch down, angled inwards

Any advise welcome, thanks

Not sure about the 525xl but I tried one octo 4 on my 90 and it was WAY to strong on the lowest setting.

I went with a single WAV and it’s perfect. I can take it up to 35% middle of left glass.

Here is the displacement

That’s what happened to me too. The wav can run from 1-35% in my tank. Above that starts to move sand. I have mine on the center left side glass 2/3 of the way up. Same placement when I had the octo.

Anyone with 2x Reef Octopus Pulse wave pumps running it on Apex 0-10V?

Can it be control to be in 'sync', alternating on and off like the Vortechs?
