Hi All,

Looking for some recommendations for flow settings on my Maxspect Gyre XF330's. I have a Red Sea Reefer 250 and I've set the Gyre's up on the back glass (see picture). My goal is ultimately a mixed reef, with LPS on the bottom and SPS on the top. I have a bare bottom (for now) so flow strength is a non-issue. What I'm wondering is what settings do you guys have on your Gyres and does anyone have them setup like me on the back glass? Right now, I just have them on steady at 80% but I feel like I could and should be doing so much more.

Should I pulse simultaneously? Should I go random? Should I ramp only one side at a time?

Once you can actually get to the menu you can program like 8 different cycles throughout the day. I use multiple different settings throughout the day, i only used constant for like 10 minutes in the morning as a tank distruber mode.

I really like the unsynched pulse mode..

I will give unsynced pulse a try. I'm just having option overload, lots of modes to test that won't really yield results for a while.

throw a fine airstone in your tank to track the effects on different flow patterns. Try to remember that no coral in a natural setting is subject to a static unchanging flow.
