So don’t know if right forum to put this in sorry in advance! But wondering if there is something we can put in the water when do a test leak to see the flow of current pumps and if there are any dead spots with Marco rock in the system as well without ruining the rock.

I always place mine about a 1/3 of the way down on either side of tank facing each other. Both pointed slightly upward to create surface agitation. From there, enough flow before sand starts blowing around.

You can watch when feeding for dead spots. See where the food settles. Beyond that, go by what your coral wants and not so much on gph.

Coral snow / calcium carbonate slurry, vitamins (those neon green vitamin liquids). It can help you visualize the flow in your tank, but its VERY brief. Once its fully mixed into the tank you basically cant see anything anymore.

Frozen foods is another good media to visualize flow. Pick something small like frozen rotifers or cyclops are good since they stay suspended in the tank longer
