Hey Guys,

I'm curious to how much flow is needed in a zoa dominate tank. I currently have a 85 gallon tank, and I have 2x MP40QD's that I typically run short pulse mode on with anti-sync at 20%. I mainly have mushrooms, zoa's and a couple frogspawn etc. (no sps). I want to say that a MP40QD does a minimum of 1k gph at all times no matter if you run it at 5% (glass thickness is to wide for the mp10).

From the stuff that I've learned it seems if a zoa is moving around quite a bit form the flow and it's kinda closed up that I can move it to another area (assuming it's on a plug) that has less flow and it will open up.

I'm wondering if I should try another mode like lagoon or something. But just generally interested in how much flow people have in zoa dominate tanks.

Thanks for all the help.

I've always run my MP10 on Lagoon mode (second yellow setting) and its deffinitely a case of more flow the better they look and healthier they are.

I have noticed problems going from high flow to low flow, but not seen any problems from low to more flow.

What is alot of flow???Everyone's answers always seems to be so vague. No one really states the size of their setups and number of wavemakers in their setup. Say I have a 48×48×16 frag tank with 4 mp40wes in there running at 30%. Is that too much not enough? Seems that no matter what I do I am struggling with my zoas.
