Quick question. I have to hydor 4s in my 120. I have moved them a thousand times and still have a wash out of sand in the front center of my tank. Would a wave maker help or could I eliminate one of the power heads?
P.S. I can't afford vortexs :-(

Have you tried just pointing one or two of the powerheads at the surface?

Yes. It's making me crazy. I also think I'm beating my green star up cause its not opening up fully. It has great color though. I also have a frog spawn that has great color but not opening all the way. After doing the math I have around 3200 gph of constant flow.

I have a Koralia wave maker I'd gladly sell. After busting the basket on 2 1050s, I'm not using it anymore. It was only in use for about a month or so.

My suggestion would be to change the angles of the powerheads. Put one on the side going across or something. Or put them facing the rocks, to disperse flow. You can also put them behind rocks.

Mine seems to knock the front off of the korallia eveery now and then. Sometimes the entire impeller comes out. Other times, it is still running, but the cover and axle fall out.

My 1050s are mounted on the side, in the back corners, both aimed slightly down and toward the opposite corners in the front. My tank is a 5' 120.
