Flowmeter alarm and Iwatch saved more damage

Hi All
At 2:30am Tuesday morning my iwatch vibrated alerting me to a GHL alarm, I could hear rushing water downstairs... immediately went downstairs to find the lounge floor covered... a return pump line had worked free and the pump was readily emptying my sump all over the cabinet and floor.
Thanks to the alarm I minimised the damage... I’m hoping the wooden floor will be ok, thankfully in the last few months I’ve been moving all electrical equipment out of the tank cabinet and into a separate cabinet, alongside my tank, the 1 thing I couldn’t move was my 2:1 doser, this is now an ex doser...
Thanks to the GHL alarm and email notification systems... I have alarms set for my various sensors both flow and level, by using gmail and the gmail app, my Iwatch will vibrate if an alarm is triggered through mail, some may think this is a bit overboard but I’m glad I did it saved me a lot more damage.
This is one of the reasons I decided to computerise my system... and to use so many sensors and alarms.

Wow sorry to hear about the incident, that's lucky you caught it so quickly. If you don't mind my asking, exactly how does a return line 'work itself free'? Those are the kinds of horror stories that always scare me.

Sorry for the sudden incident, but great to hear that you received the notification and alerts as programmed.

As for going overboard on how many alerts alerts and notifications through different means of receiving is never ever a bad thing.

It was entirely my fault a temporary fix that worked and then I forgot to sort it out properly...

Thanks, and I couldn’t agree more, for me one of the main reasons for going computerised was to be able to monitor, alert and adjust
/ control remotely as needed. I live on my own and work away a lot so these functions are crucial, I monitor everything... 4 flow meters, tank and sump water levels, both high and low, my RO and AWC levels. For me the iwatch alert is a real benefit.

These things always happen at night or when we are out of town. Glad it was the former! I agree, having the profilux monitoring all aspects of the tank and potential problems has saved me a few times already! Hope everything gets dried out for ya good as new!

One thing I did notice from this, i have my probes in a measurement cell, that was fed off a manifold from this pump, the measurement cell must of syphoned and emptied and the heater probe was exposed to the air which being cooler turned on the heaters, I’ll have to figure out some programmable logic to not allow this to happen...

Did the doser get fried or could you rinse it In RODI water and dry it out?? Might not save the heads but might save the rest..

Thank you both, unfortunately It got fried, I took the lid off and the circuit board had burnt, I am drying it out but the damage looks to bad, thankfully my LFS sells them so got a replacement yesterday, as I dose triton it’s not easy to be without one for long.
