For those that fell for Flucanazole being Acro safe how long did it take for your tank to recover. I am over 2 weeks out and Alk consumption still hasn't returned to pre levels.

Beat the **** out of my papaya cloves, and lost some corals (lps/sps)Did clear GHA. But at cost. Will definitely recommend it but with warning that it comes at cost IMO.

It killed a lot of my acros and the ones that survived took months to return to normal.

Pretty much what happened here. I dosed it to kill brown cloves because they were overrunning my tank. Most of my acros couldn't hang, to put it mildy. Lost several torch corals too. It took months for the tank to bounce back. If you have any urchins, take them out; will kill them too.

How did you guys add it? I take mines out of the capsule mix it separately in a container with aquarium water once resolved I add it in the sumi never use the recommended dosage.

I did this too. I had no use with acros, or any other coral for that matter.

I might be wrong but I remember reading that there were different sources for fluconazole, of those one was coral safe the rest did damage. Whered you get your fluconazole from?

It was regular FluxRx.

I bought my reef flux at bulk reef supply. I've never used flux RX

I used flux rx on my 120. I did however run it at 50% strength.
Alk useage was reduced for about a month. No losses. I have 2 urchins lots of snails and shrimp.
I only did a 10 gallon water change after treatment.
Also never turned off my skimmer.
I did turn off carbon.
After WC I ran 1cup of rox and changed it every week for 3 weeks then back to changing once a month.
I added 60 astrea snails after treatment and no algae in my system since.

I used flux Rx my total water volume is 85 gallons .I used the whole bottle which is made for 100 gallons total water volume.

I’m just over a week into it and it has done miracles for my tank .

how long till you started noticing negative effects?

Day 3 started noticing less polyp extension on some acros. By day 10 stn and rtn started to occur. Immediately did massive water changes to pull the med out of the water.

Took me over 2 months for alk consumption to go back tomorrow, lost 2 acros but apart from that no signs of bryopsis yet. I will definitely hesitate to use it again though.

Took my 5 years to grow this SSC from a 1/2 inch frag. Used to have such thick PE you could barely see the coralites and skeleton. So pathetic looking now.

I don’t know maybe there is contaminated batches ‍♂️ ...the reason I say this is because I over dosed on my tank and my alk consumption has increased, not a lot but I have had to up my doser.

I know Devon from reef dudes recently used it in his tank at 4x the recommended dose because he believes it will kill bubble algae ...I guess will wait and see .

I dosed at the labeled strength 20mg/gallon and didn't really observe any negative effects other than my acan lords being upset. I did regularly remove the clumps of algae as they died though.
