Hi all,

I'm thinking about using flucanzole to eliminate my bryopsis problem but I have noticed from reading through the various threads on this that a couple of people seem to have had issues using this with urchins, dropping spines or dieing.

Anyone out there used this sucessfully with urchins? I have the flucanozole already but am hesitant to use it in case it harms my 2 tuxedo urchins.

Thanks

Nick

I have a tuxedo and pincushion urchin. I have done three treatments of fluconazole at different times and never had an issue. Matter of fact I've never had an issue with anything dying or getting sickly. I suspect that there was other things in play when those people had issues with their urchins

You are right, the only references to this are found in threads here on R2R. I do not see any good references to this in the literature. You are smart to look for answers through other reefers with experience. Unfortunately I do not know if the urchins would be OK. Would it be possible to remove the urchins and put them in a quarantine system for a few days??? Good luck with this.
