Fluconazole and macro algae

For those of you who have used fluconazole to treat hair algae, etc I was wondering if it had any effect on macro algae in your tank or refugium.

That's what I was thinking too so I thought I would ask around to try and find out

ive used flucanozole, and it had little to no effect on my chaeto. In general, I believe that the chaeto, and any macro algae, have cell walls and structures too robust for flucanozole to kill it

I've done multiple fluconazole treatments and my conclusion is that it can kill macroalgae so do not leave macroalgae in your tank at least for the first week of treatment.

Did you end up using fluconazole? How were the results?

I believe you're supposed to remove chaeto and macro algae while treating with fluco?

says so on the box however some people don't and their macros survive; I've had contradictory experiences so I do recommend removing them while treating
