fluconazole And urchin

So I’m planning on using fluconazole to treat bubble algae. My question is will this also kill off what my tuxedo urchin is eating? Will I have to supplement feedings for it?

I only have a couple real small patches. Honestly not even sure what it’s eating now but it’s growing and healthy.

Fluconazole is not the best treatment for bubble algae... What else have you tried?

So far sucking it out every water change with larger changes. It’s definitely making a dent in the population but there’s areas I can’t reach and rocks that are moving around too much to really get in there. Also tried an emerald crab on 2 different occasions but for whatever reason they die a couple days after putting them in.

I've heard of people using it and the bubble algae going away after a few treatments (compared to let's say one for bryopsis typically).

Just finished my 3rd round a fluconazole. Does great for my reoccurring bryopsis, does absolutely nothing for my bubble algae. If anything my bubble algae got worse which I assume is because some of the freed up nutrients my bryposis was consuming are now being consumed by the bubble algae.

I had bryopsis and eradicated it with 2 treatments of flucon. I have a bunch left over because it’s only a 14 gallon. I did some reading on people killing the bubbles with a double dose, that’s why I was considering using it.

That’s only at 4x the recommended dose.

I’ve read 2x-4x dose amount and it takes awhile longer too. Also read people have had good results. Guess I’ll keep doing what I’m doing now. It’s working but really slow. And maybe I’ll get a crab on a day it doesn’t take me 5 hours to get home too.
