Fluconazole, anyone tried this one?

I have tried a lot of different things including H2O2 and nothing is really fixing my issue. I have done some research and I think this is going to be my next step. The algae I have does not look like bryopsis (fern like), but nothing really seems to bother. I have been dosing Vibrant for a month. The water never looked so clear but it hasn't touched this stuff.

I used it about a year ago with great success. No return of any type algae. Also, did no harm to the chaeto. I would also suggest getting the “name brand” I used reeflux

I would keep up with whatever maintenance routine you have. As for it coming back, every tank is different so I couldn't answer that one. I'm sure if your rock is leaching it can.

The system was started out with dry rock could be a lack of maintenance water changes, gfo, too much lights, nutrients etc

I’ve ttreated 3 times, bryopsys gone by day seven continue fluconzole for another week, 2nd time left it going for a month and the bryopsys came back after around a month or so of meds being removed. I’m on my 3rd attempt same story gone within a week but I’m not gonna leave it in for longer this time, maybe atleast a month and a half. I did notice after the second treatment it didn’t come back in all the places it grew. Time will tell if it comes back this time, on around 3 weeks on this third treatment. It definitely does eradicate to begin with.

Wonder why it comes back?

That’s my million dollar question, I think since it comes back where it was growing before it must have some roots deep in the rock that survives the treatment, 2nd time I left it in for 29 days. I don’t see it effecting any corals and honestly had to look back at when I started this current treatment, Dec. 23rd. Gonna leave it in much longer this time maybe 2 months and see what happens. Not sure how quick it breaks down so I might add a 1/4 dose after one month just to keep it in there for sure and see if the 3rd time is the charm. Atleast it doesn’t bother the fish and corals.

I'm with @HB AL The ReeFlux got rid of all the bryopsis, tank looked great, and it all came back with a vengeance, with nothing being added to the system. I have enough to dose again but I'm debating dosing it again, taking down that tank, or trying to cycle all new rock and swap out the rock (it's only a 40 gallon and I have lots of extra rock dry). I spend a half hour or more with each water change attempting to pull/scrub what I can but bryopsis really stinks.

I really don’t have the option to take it down and cycle all new rock with the amount of rock, corals and fish I have. If it comes back again I will just add fluconzole treatment to my maintanence list and dose it every few months. Here’s a couple pics around a week in with current treatment.
