Greeting!

I’ve been battling a mix of Bryopsis, GHA and green cyano for about 2 years now. I recently found out about fluconazole. I’m running a 57 gallon with a 20 gallon sump. I dosed 10 capsules of Reef Flux on Tuesday but I’m not seeing a ton of progress. I did take out my purigen and chemipure media and took off the cup of the skimmer. Should I dose again or do I need to wait it out?

^^^this.

You may actually see more cyano as the other algaes die.

Thoughts on how I should get rid of the cyano? I’m desperate to get my tank looking good again.

Short term : Red slime remover or a similar product will get rid of it overnight.
Long term : Figure out the cause of it and correct that and it won't return. As mentioned above you may actually see more cyano as the other algaes die so I'd probably wait and take care of one thing at a time.

What are your nutrient parameters? And any tank shots of where the algae is growing?

Cyano can fix nitrogen unlike coral or macro algaes. So reducing nitrate too far can often cause it to outcompete them.

Flow is another thing to look at with cyano. Too little in the areas its growing and can take a foothold under the right circumstance.

NO3 0-5ppm
NO2 0 ppm
NH4 0 ppm
PO4 0 ppm
Ca 580ppm
Kh 5.1

Just started dosing to raise KH, couldn’t find my pH test.

you need to start doing some BIG water changes to get those parameters closer to natural sea water levels. 580 calcium and low ALK is very bad.. What kind of hydrometer are you using to test your salinity? It's kinda expensive but offers the best in testing and takes user error out of the equation. Take a look at the Milwaukee digital refractometer.

^^ your alk and calcium are out of nsw norms quite far.

Also your nitrate is undetectable a prime condition for cyano. I like sodium nitrate to raise this. Aim for 5-10 ppm.

May need to get some kh2po4 as this might drop your phosphate to undetectable.

Do not raise alk more than .5dkh a day. Corals will respond negatively.

I can’t do water changes while treating with the Fluconazole. I’ll work on raising the dkh slowly while undergoing the Fluconazole treatment. Then I’ll tackle the nitrate issue.
