Flukes, Lympho, or Ich? Copperband Butterfly

Hi All,

Before I decide to tackle this, I want to be more confident in the diagnosis as treatment is sure to be stressful on the fish unless I dose the DT with Prazipro (if flukes).

I introduced the copperband to my 72 DT Wednesday and he is actively eating live black worms and frozen bloodworms. He has a fuzzy singular white dot on his tail that has been there since day 1 and has been shaking his head/jittery. Also will open his mouth completely pretty frequently and hides in the rocks a lot. Haven’t observed any ich spots but something seems off. Observed him swimming in a fast circle twice today as well.

Does this sound like flukes? Should I treat the entire system if so or just do a dip hoping it is the species specific fluke that prefers butterflies?

Its tough to tell but it’s a common fish and placement for lymph.

Jerking head movements are relatively normal for CBB.

Swimming eratically could be nearly anything, but I submit to you that you have little to lose by dosing Prazi.

Thank you! I did a water change today so I will see if that has any improvement if lymph over the next couple days and if not will dose Prazi.
