Do you have any coral in the tank? It's either from getting stung or black Ich would be my best guess. How long have you had the fish and have you introduced anything new to the tank recently?

Its in a holding tank so no corals, but its plumbed into a Acro system so medication is touchy. Never heard of black ich, thanks ill do some more research.
