Hi,

I have had my tank up and running for about 6 months now. I have been through an algae stage and my clean up crew munched it away but now I have this hard Fluro algae? Is this normal? Is it something to do with coralline algae? Sort of looks like I’m getting specs of purple through it.

Thanks in advanced!

Your dry rock i "coming alive" it's a normal process of what I call the "extended cycle" where your rock develops microfauna and the ability to support life. Coralline should take over in a few months if you keep calc and alk at the right levels

Pre cursor to purple corraline quite often.
