My new cornerflo marinand tank keeps flushing. The water level keeps fluctuating above and below the hole on the drain pipe. It's driving me nuts. Please help.

I did. It's a little straw coming out of the top of it. Maybe it's not big enough?

Or your return pump is feeding too much for the drain to manage w/o covering the drain air intake and causing the drain to go full siphon. Once the air intake is uncovered you get the large air and water sucking sound.

Or it's clogged. It doesn't take a big hole - 1/8" or so. But if it's not getting air, it will make the water level go up and down.

You can adjust the water level by adjusting the amount of air.

Do you have a picture of your drain? If I remember correctly the 90 with the 2 holes drilled on the sides should be on the front. Also if you have a ball valve on your return try turning the flow down a bit.

I have never had a Marineland tank, but if that were my situation to deal with, I would either dial back the return pump a little (as has already been mentioned), or take a closer look at the vent on top (you said there was a straw at the top). The hole with the tubing on top - is the tubing pushed down too far (like below the water line inside of the pipe)?

I did a mod on my 65. I with I'd have set the intake about 1/2" higher as I do get noise coming through the weir, but none from the intake. I used a tee and street elbow, and put a cap at the top of the tee with about a 1/4" hole.

Lights aren't on yet, but this should give you the idea.

Make your hole bigger. Keep going up one drill bit size at a time until you get the water in your over flow to stay at an even level which will stop the flushing.
I did my own durso drains and that is what I did and once I got to the right size hole the water level stayed even in the overflow and the noise decreased to almost nothing.

x2 on what buzzword said. Just drill with a little bigger size bit until it stops flushing. Jut needs a little fine tuning.
