So I did want to make a post in regards to the stock light on the Fluval EVO 13.5. Mine is on a ramp up timer. I have LPS in the sand bed. Most of us thought this light was a Softy light only. This was done in 2018. Par Values. I tend to agree with it. The light has two big problems. It depends on the rock scape and the Acintic or blues suck. Anyways I got LPS doing well in mine. Just added another peice.

I think it’s important to understand Par and coral placement the EVO is pretty forgive able with your softer corals but it’s a bit underestimated as it’ll easily do LPS.

I am going to be upgrading but it should be noted for as simple as that AIO is. That light isn’t terrible.

I was getting good growth out of the stock light, but I absolutely hated the colors so I had to replace it. I'm currenlty on the Aquaknight LED from Amazon and it has really good color (to my eyes) and still the same good growth.

My 13.5 has a bunch of favias on the sand doing good. Zoas up a little higher on the rock grow well. Stock light is pretty good. Def would grow softies. Best thing I did with mine was swap out the return pump.

I think the only thing I didn’t upgrade on my evo was the tank ;Hilarious
I used the stock light on my coral QT for a while but noticed most of the corals would loose some color eventually. I also wasn’t a fan the of the spectrum, too white or too blue are the options, other than the color loss both lps and softies grew ok under it. Switched my quarantines to kessil A80’s and started the evo with a AI prime, much happier with the result from those.

I moved this pocilipora (spelling) in from my big tank because it was being chewed by a file fish, it did bleach a bit but as you can see to the right it is slowly colouring back up so yes I do run the stock light and yes it will grow sps. :)
