I have a Fluval 32.5, and I’m not sure if I have enough flow. Right now I just have a couple of Zoa’s, and fish but am planning on adding more “beginner” corrals soon. I am using the stock return pump and a singly Hyger mini wavemaker powerhear placed towards the surface on one end. My goal was to create a gyre effect, but its not strong enough on its own.

Does anyone know if a gyre like the Jebao SCP-70 would be too strong in this tank?

You have a 32 gallon, the recommended minimum flow rate would be 10x turnover, so you want about 350 gph. Again, 10x is really minimum, I keep about 30x-40x turnover in my tanks. The idea is to have no dead spots in the tank that collect debris.

If you put an airstone in your tank, you will see the flow, and this is how you arrange with your powerheads to reduce dead zones as much as possible.
