FLUVAL 405 media?

Hi,
Does it make sense to use biomax in the media filter instead of the carbon on with the carbon. Fluval doesn't include this with purchase but wondering it is needed or helps with anything?

I use the ceramic rings , phosban and the bio Max in my fluval

Do u mix them all together and put them in there in place of carbon?

Here is what I use for my Fluval filter:

• Bottom tray: phosban in one slot and carbon in the next
• Middle tray: 2 carbons
• Top: Biomax

It's been working well for me.
