Did you make sure there isnt any critters lodged in it somewhere that is stopping the impeller from continuing to spin?

I’ve got this same model, and had issues with both the clear cover plate that holds the impeller into the motor (the circular one you have to remove to get to the impeller) and have also snapped the white shaft on the impeller, which caused it to not sit true within the ‘impeller cavity’.

How are these two components looking?

yes and they are both brand new impeller and ceramic shaft and the cover seems perfectly fine , ive clean everything and baselined it and its still not working ,with the cover on and off it still spins a bit then stops and doesn't move but nothing is stopping It

I need this filter now ,, should I take the impellar and cover off the head and somehow thread a hose through the outtake hole and attach a 700gph pump to move the water out of the filter

Is the impeller 'metal piece' properly seated in the little rubber thing? If not it will cause this. It only needs to be a fraction of a mm off for this to happen

alright I figured out a really good solution that costed me 0$ ,,,, I took out the impeller and shaft and impellar cover ,, took the outlet nozzle off and fit a marineland maxijet 900 circulation pump to it and it now pumps the water through the canister , parts for the fix are 80$ so I will invest in that when I have the chance but this is outputting a lot more water and intake a lot more with the same amount of suction

A rather ingenious fix to say the least.

Thanks , I thought hard about how to fix this for free ,, didn't have much help ,, nobody fixes canisters when they break lol they just buy a new one, but where I am in Canada ,, a decent canister filter is like reaching 400 for one rated a little more the 125g ,, I use the 405 I got for 50$ lol im not a rich man so diy's and second hand equipment and tanks is all I can get lol ,, thank god I had 30lbs of crushed coral before I started my 125 or it would of been over 300$ for substrate alone :S
