Fluval 5g desk tank

The key is grow easy corals tht like dirty water. Shrooms, gsp and Xenia all come to mind. Then you just let the tank stay dirty and everything flourishes

I laid a piece of plastic over the opening since I don’t really use the light. There’s a couple of YouTube videos that modify the filter sections for flow.

Just an update on the tank, I have added 6 different zoas/palys as well as some pulsing xenia that was given to me. Also this weekend I added a fire shrimp and moved the tank to my desk at work. All has gone well and tank is looking good. I am on the fence about pulling the clown out and getting a small dragonet or goby. Clown is about 6 years old and is kind of too big in my opinion. But I added a pair of Clarki clowns to my 60 a while back and don't think things will go well if I put this one back in. I seeded the tank with pods and I can see tons of them all over the place so I think i would be okay to add a dragonet but not sure it will be as easy to feed long term. Afraid it would just eat everything too quickly and then starve. So we'll see.

Imo no fish should be in there unless it's a small goby with a pistol shrimp. Usually people stick to inverts for those. Sexy shrimp, porcelain crabs and pom pom crabs work quite well.

The amount of pods won't be able to handle the appetite of a dragonet. It will starve.
