Hey all, so I have an evo13.5 and today i noticed my temperatures were quite high (83-84F). I checked everything, heater off and unplugged, turned off all fuge lights and the only thing I can think of causing overheating is the main light itself, which when I touch is quite warm/hot.

Has anyone else had this issue with this tank? Do you think running a fan over the top will keep temperatures down and keep the heat from the light from getting absorbed by the water and heating the tank?

Are you using the stock light? I have the EVO as well and got rid of the stock light and lid and have been running an A1 Prime. Love it, no heat problems. I also run two heaters, 1 plugged into an inkbird.

it is the stock light. do you run with no lid? im trying to figure out how i might mount a couple kessil a80's i have lying around for the tank

Yep, no lid. I put the mounting bracket on the back using 2nd chamber. I also have a media basket in the 3rd chamber. Seems to be working well.

I had the same issue and I removed the lid and the stock light and am using an AI Prime HD on a clip on arm and that fixed it for me (it also looks really nice). If you're worried about jumpers then you could put on a clear mesh lid on top of it.

thats probably going to be my plan. Im going to build a stand to put two kessil a80's (i dont think one is strong enough to cover the footprint well) and grab a mesh lid for the tank
