After life being overwhelming I'm finally setting up my 32.5 fluval flex, ny question is are the filter things okay? I know media baskets are preferable, but would rather not spend 100 dollars on some plexi glass

You can run this tank as a saltwater setup. As you spend more time with it you may wish to start looking at other filter material options. Most tanks like this the cartridges that are sold for the filters work just fine but you can often find alternatives that are 1/2 the price.
