Hi y'all,
I am in search of opinions on the equipment for my redo/upgrade of my Fluval Flex 15! I didn't do it right, kept messing up, and really am not having a ton of fun with it. It's time to fix it!
I bought a 15-gallon sump that I plan to run to 1: increase water volume and allow for more stable levels, and 2: make the process more sleek and easy to maintain. I am not looking for a hands-off reef, but just one that if I test my levels on a Saturday if nothing visibly changes I can safely assume that by Thursday the levels are stable.
The current plan is to remove the internal filter on Flex and drill the glass (heavily researched this and it is fine) and place an XAqua InOut. I plan on plumbing with XAqua's pipe kit for the drain and in, I know it's expensive, but it's worthwhile to me. Water flows into my sump through a filter sock. I have no idea if I should run a skimmer, so I'd love your opinion. I have a compartment for an ATO, and I plan to run some sort of ATO system, I would love recommendations!
I think I want to run some sort of nutrient export, so maybe if I don't use a skimmer, I'll build a removable cage and have cheato.
I don't know what to do about a pump, but I know I want dc and controllable. Speaking of controllable, I think I wanna build a control panel with switches so I can turn things off without unplugging them and so I can house the dc controller, the thermostat, and any other controller I end up with.
I know I definitely want to run a wavemaker, just for a random flow pulse. If you have recommendations, please lmk.
thank you all!

Only DC pump that will fit is the Jeboa DCA-1200 but its not enough flow and you need to modify it. Just stick with the Sicce 1.0 or .5
