How did you set up the media?

So I have the pump, and it's going but the flow isn't what I think it should be. Definitely not what I expected and I know I have to have something ... off. I have marine pure in the outside circle trays ... and at the top I have floss in the very top of the canister on top of the red. Under that I have a bag of ceramic media that I had in the HOB filter before I switched. That's it.

Ok, my "helper" got busy with other things, so I haven't been able to get pics with a tape measure involved, but here are some without, just to give you an idea. And I was wrong about the Fluval. it's a 406
