Fluval Marine 3.0 settings

Just got my first fish in my tank after cycling and was wondering a bit about light settings as didn’t want to encourage any nuisance growth, I have the fluval 3.0 marine light and currently have the settings as bellow, do people think this will be alright to begin with?

And would love some recommendations for settings once corals are in?

What are the tank's dimensions and length of the light? I would likely crank most channels to 100% if keeping corals, as those lights don't have much wattage.

It’s the fluval flex 123l : 82 x 39 x 40cm (LxHxW)

I was planning to knock it all up when I put corals in but as the tank is so young still I thought it was best to keep light levels low

Is it the 32 watt fixture?

I would try to ramp up to about 100% on the middle 3 channels and as much white as you can stand with a little red for at least 6 hours. The rest of the day, you can dim down or go more blue-only to help with algae.

I would knock all colour Channels up to 100 % and whites up to 50-75% depending on your preference and what you have stocked for 6-8 hours a day. I have ran these lights for years and buying more now for a new nano project they are great lights.

Here's my settings they have shown very good growth, minimal algae growth, hammer fully open, also have noticed my clowns are interacting with the entire tank, instead of hiding along back wall avoiding the bright light.

It seems like ur tank is doing great. Can u share ur settings? These are my settings and my coral seem to be struggling.

Here you go, this is what I've come up with after doing a ton of research and watching the livestock reaction.

Wouldn't that much white create green algae everywhere.

I thought it would too, but actually the opposite is happening in my evo.. I only allow the white to stay on at 75% for only few hours around noon. The tank is more blue than white for most the day. I've actually had less algae growth since updating to this. The blue light doesn't appear to grow algae as fast as the white. I still do a little scrubbing every two weeks with a small toothbrush and cleaning the glass. But try it out for few days. Do a partial 20% water change first then try the light settings. That way you know the water quality is fine...if there's any excessive algae growth you'll know its a light problem and not water quality. Let me know how it goes.

Is the fluval reef lights 3.0 any good for coral colours (pop) as well as growth. I have a 3ft x 12 x 15 tank and using a fluval aquasky. It's clearly no good for coral colour enhancement? All my tank water parameters are fine, but I'm being told that the beige tint on my corals is due to the lighting?

Keep the blue and violet at 80% or above. Drop the cyan to 50-60%. Red & white need to be much lower. I kept mine below 10%. This will support soft corals and LPS in the Flex, although you may want to order a second light (the hood will fit 2)

So you posted Pro and auto, which one do I use?

Honestly this light is too weak... imo you should crank it up to 100% to compensate for its weak output
