Hello Everyone. I'm new to the forum and I had some questions about how this light I just purchased might work with my setup. I have a 55 gallon 48x12x21 with a 20 gallon sump below it. For now, my tank holds green star polyps, bubble tip anemones, a few clown fish, six line rass, a few blue green chromis, the regular clean up crew, and a sea cucumber. The tanks been up and running for about 2 years now. Originally I had a 4 bulb T5 setup, but I decided to upgrade to LEDs a few days ago.

I purchased the 48" Fluval MARINE & REEF 2.0 FULL SPECTRUM PERFORMANCE LED
http://fluvalaquatics.com/us/product.../#.V7G3CfkrLIU

Prior to running my new light my anemones and green star polyps were not doing so well and they were pretty closed up. I'm pretty sure I lost the spectrum of light on my T5 and replacement was long overdue. So I've been running the new Fluval for about 2 days now and it looks nice, but I'm not seeing any response from the polyps or the BTA. Is it still too early for them to respond? I'm hoping that this light will provide the proper support needed for my tank. I might add a few more soft coral here or there, but that's about it. Any thoughts? I couldn't find much of any reviews on this particular model. However, on the website it does discuss the PAR rating and all that. After all my research I thought this was the best one. Just wondering what you guys might think.

Thanks in advance!

Wanna make sure you don't run them fully 100% and start halfway so the corals can acclimate to them. You said your t5 bulbs lost their power so you might want to just start slow with this lighter and increase intensity slowly.

That's some good advice. I vaguely remember people talking about doing that, but my first thought was "I need to bring these babies back to good health"....so yeah...I've been running at 100% the last few days. I'll tune them down for now--any ideas about the timeline for gradually bringing them up to full power? Over a week or so? Thanks.

A week to two weeks.

Also have this light. I have the 36 inch model. I am also running a 2 lamp t5ho one 10k and one act. I have had no issues with the led. But i am also new to reefing. I habe seen some growth on my duncans and my mushrooms. As well as my favias. I run them all at full 11 hrs a day
