Sup everyone, been out the game for about 1 year or so but guess what I can’t control myself... my gf got me a fluval spec v to entertain me, currently set up as planted with a betta, I seen a few pico tanks but Saturday I walked in my LFS for kicks and they have the same tank with the same stock lighting full of pulsing Xenia and some shrooms and it looked so nice!!!! That’s all it took.

already got some sand and picking up some Lafter work to start the swap my next question is lights? What do you guys suggest ?

Ideally I may do a some easy lps(not sure which) I was thinking a torch head, a small zoa garden and a nice island of GSP no fish maybe some cleaner shrimp or 2

poor Stanley he’s getting evicted soon smh

I would not put LPS under those lights (or in a 5 gal).

The lights I get but why not LPS particular torch or hammer and GSP which is the route I’m thinking? I know stability will be a challenge but probably just temp since I will be using my Apex equipment on it( luckily didn’t sell it) do top off which is the other big problem hopefully won’t be I have The ATK

My apartments temp is pretty stable summers might get a bit on the warm side but I’m thinking a few small fans to cool it off

I typically soft corals are easier and I am worried that light is not enough for a lot of LPS. I personally don't know the light so I could be wrong.

I definitely know these lights won’t be enough but they did have Xenias and mushrooms at the LFS growing with the stock lights it’s Manhattan aquarium they are pRetty experienced there but I won’t be doing Xenias.

I been doing some digging around but can’t find solid or continues feed back on the fluval sea marine nano, also considering the current orbits marine 16-24” didn’t know they had such short model But I’m at work I guess I have some more researcher for later, I just want some feedback on anyone that has used small lights with positive experience, BTW I’m a stick head my tank last year was mostly sps not saying I will try it on this tank but you never know lol

You would be surprise what the addiction can do, what I’m upset about is that last week I sold my old kessil A160we on eBay that would have been perfect, I was using it in my Sump for frags never liked frag racks on a display tank. I thought my old MP10 would be too much but it’s perfect, let the cycle begin! I did found other useful sites won’t mentioned them here but didn’t know nanos were this popular definitely a challenge I’m willing to take. On the light I’m still debating but I have plenty of time to until I have to upgrade. Here’s a few pics of my old tank. Corals are so addictive!! God how I miss my tank! I said my next build had to be 120 or better lol

What light did you end up getting for your fluval spec? My bf got me a spec and it was already setup salt with a clown and goby….I couldn’t resist I added some pulsing Xenia, Zoas, and gsp…. I’m in love… but the stock light is not amazing…
