Fluval Spec V

To have corals you would have to upgrade the light fixture? right?

Not sure but since they are all white it wouldn't look incredible. I"m sure you could convert it though

I had a Spec V for almost a year. I used a Par38 to light the whole thing. I never really had any issues and I'm actually setting up another one.

What are you looking for? Like what is your budget? size limits? Will you be gone alot?

Less than 200. Semi new to the hobby would be my second tank. Want a smaller desktop tank

what did you have in it?

I had a frogspawn, sour apple bird nests, lots of zoas (8+), GSP, Acans (4), chalices (4) and one war coral.

I also had a maroon clown. I fed it about 1 cube every other day and did 20-30% water changes weekly. No skimmer, I ran Phosban and Charcoal on alternating weeks but it wasn't very efficient.

I would highly suggest upgrading the pump and getting an InTank media basket. Depending what you want to keep in it, $200 may not be enough unless you get everything used (which is what i am doing).

You could get the AI prime or the Kessil A160, it would be a lot more than you need but it would be good for future tanks too.

The AI prime alone is $200 but if you can afford it is well worth it! I have one for my 35 gallon tank and you wont regret it!

I looked up those lights and they look pretty sick but i think a lil too spendy for now

Understandable, look for a used A150 or try a chinese LED from Amazon.

wait nvm u said a par 38 led bulb. Something like this?

Yes but I wouldn't use that. You don't want something that is "blue and white". You want something with neutral whites or "full spectrum". What are you planning to keep and what is your budget?

Not sure I can post the links but Rapidled, Coral Compulsion and Reef LED all sell Par38's that would work.
