my fluval 407 leaks when shut off it has a new o-ring anyone else have this problem

You likely have a small leak that creates a venturi when the pump turns on drawing in air rather than leaking water. You first need to identify where the leak is you can either see where the water is coming from or if you are getting air bubbles inside the filter when it is on you can wrap a wet rag around the joints until the bubbles stop.

Once you know where the leak is we can help you troubleshoot what the problem might be.
