Flux RX Dosage

How long has it been since you dosed? It does take some time. More information on your tank parameters would be helpful as well.

Been having an algae problem for several months. All the parameters are within normal levels (Ca, Po, Kh, Na). I’ve done three or four cycles of Flux RX at the suggested dosage but it’s not making a dent in the algae. So I’m considering just trying to double or triple the dose to see if that works unless it could have some huge detrimental effect on my livestock.

it only works on bropsis or certains strains of GHA. not all algae

Other threads discuss it being effective on bubble algae at 4x dosage. I have used it at 4x, 2 weeks in, on a bad case of bubble algae and it is being effective. It acts fastest closer to the lights.

Have you been manually removing the algae too?

It will help loosen the algae so it’s easier to remove, that and also reducing your nutrients.

If your tank is full of algae, you can’t rely on your po4 and nitrate readings as they will seem lower than they really are.

Just adding the flux to a load of algae I think will be asking too much of the flux, without giving it a helping hand.
