Do you use flux for soldering led stars? If so please post a link to a good easy to apply flux along with some tips on how to use it. Apply to wire and stars? Apply before tinning? Thanks

Yes. I just take the wire and dip it into the flux a few times. Same for the led leads.

You dont really HAVE to use it but it makes soldering a whole lot easier

Ok. So a jar instead of a pen? Maybe a q-tip to apply to the pad on the star? I need all the easy I can get. :) Any links?

Unfortunately I dont know of any links to it but, I will do this for you

just take your two wires your soldering and dip them in or apply it however you have to, then heat up your soldering gun, followed by getting a little bit of solder on your gun (just a bead dangling off it), hold the two wires together, touch it to the wires and it flows out nice and even. If you mess up, no worries, hold the solder gun up to it and melt the solder back off and try again=) just dont get your wires too too hot haha.

I've got 63/37 no-clean solder. That's not flux core right? Seems I've read that using flux along with flux core solder is a good thing. Not needed? Looks like I'll be getting some flux core. Thanks guys.

It will say either flux core or rosin core on the package. Not a bad thing if you use both, just easier to use flux core stuff.

That will work just fine man
