Just checked my sump and it's full of a jelly like substance. Have no idea what it is, is clear but thick enough to clog the filter sock. Could it be from a duncan coral being bothered by a pistol shrimp? Defence mechanism!?

Added note, thick enough to remove with a net which I am doing now. Luckily it's not getting back to the display due to the fuge catching it. What is this stuff!?

A picture would help out a lot. :)

That's what I've removed so far. Got most of it. It's got to be from that duncan. I moved it as the pistol shrimp kept annoying it. It's been closed up all day, everything else seems fine. It seems to float so luckily I think it went straight in the sump and stayed there. If anyone has had this before, advice or recommendations welcomed!

Most likely not from the duncan. Do you carbon dose at all?

Yes I do... have done for some time. What do you think it could be? I've managed to remove it all and no livestock damage/losses

Will cut in half, my tank is too clean at the moment anyway!

As always with carbon dosing, go slow both ways, up or down.
I would not cut in half at once, 25% every couple of days should be safer
