I recently purchased a Elos 100 (75g) tank and stand that is a older model tank (pre-2015) but was never used. Apparently the buyer bought out an Elos store that was closing.

The Elos tank does not come with a foam pad underneath it so I purchased an innovative marine pad.

I am now wondering if I should install the pad or not. I know that the foam pad is typically recommended for rimless tanks, but the Elos design is rather unique with a multi-pane floating bottom.

I am concerned if I put the foam under the tank and it compresses around the sides, it may start putting pressure on the bottom where it is not intended.

I am also wondering if I should do anything else to help stabilize the tank. The stand design is a bit odd in that the front glass is completely unsupported, and the back 20% of the stand is wide open so the back glass is only supported on the very ends. That combined with the floating bottom means that almost all the weight is on the two side panels.

Is the plastic brace on the outside? If so i say no foam. And the stand sounds scary...but im unfamiliar with them.
Maybe someone who has one will.chime in.

hello if you have an official ELOS stand , you don't need any foam underneath .. ..
