Focal point for custom aquarium stand

I am in the final stages of building my aquarium stand. The stand is a 40 by 40 by 36H" wooden stand that is open in the middle. I installed lights to shine down on the open area. Initially I wanted to put a single large conch shell, but the conch shells are not big enough to command that space. I also considered some coral skeletons, glass fish decorations and an overall nautical theme, but for one reason or another felt that was not the best way to go. More recently I have been considering a vintage Mark V diving helmet replica, but my wife is not completely on board with this. I'm not married to the idea either, but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas. Keep in mind that we have a 20 month old and this will be just his height so something super breakable is probably not the way to go.

Cool idea... I've got my kid's sculptures, photographs, and a few good books on one side of my under tank bookshelf... the other side is half tank gear (testing, nets, etc) and half bar (liquor bottles, glassware, etc).

I do have a 1.5" miniature of a diving helmet that sits on my painted surround Don't even remember where I got the thing, but that's where it sits.
