ok so my water is foggy and I don't know why, i think its a bacterial bloom but I've been letting it sit for a week and nothing has happened, if I do a water change it will go straight back to foggy, my corals are also all closed up, I don't know the problem, the nirtates are around 1, my phosphate is about .25, pH is 8.0, calcium 400, and alk is 9.0 if anyone knows what else could be the problem please help

How long has the tank been set up? Definitely sounds like a bacterial bloom. It will work itself out over time.....UV will clear it up almost overnight.

All those parameters look normal .
but when doing water changes , does the new water parameters match?

is there new sand that’s possibly being stirred up by flow ?

so are you doing the basics on it?

activated carbon
uv
protein skimmer
regular water changes
using rodi water

Water changes won’t do anything except make the bacteria continue to bloom. Need to let it run its course. I found inaction was helpful and mine only lasted a week or so. As someone mentioned, UV will also help.

try UV filter

Also, I would airate the water if you can.
Ok, also if you look into the water it’s like a thick fog that you see when you shake a bottle of soda or something, like micro bubbles but there’s nothing in my tank that is making micro bubbles
