Is it just me or has the price of frozen food gone way up? I was just looking and a package of cubed Mysis Shrimp was $7.50. Other food blends are about $20 for a thin sheet. I know seafood is expensive but the prices seem really high. Does anyone know of lower priced places to purchase?

That's a good idea. I think I will also look at the flat packs of food instead of the blister packs that I normally grab. It seems you get a lot more for your money. I just prefer the blister packs because it's easy to feed the same amount every day...

The grocery store. I've taken to blending up a concoction of shrimp, scallop, squid and other oceanic critters. From frozen, blend til chunks the size of mysis. My fish love it.
YES! I buy the bag of frozen mixed sea food for about $7 at the grocery store. I put some in RO water and blend it up. One bag last my 180 gal like 2 months and I have 2 triggers in my reef.

That too. I started with a 32oz pack of mysis, and I still have over half of it months later. Cost something like $50CAD if I recall.

To feed the same amount, either cut it into cubes on your own, weigh it, or just thaw a chunk of it and measure it out as you feed. :)

Like @Hugh Mann and @GeoSquid, I go to the Asian Market and stock up on random seafood and then bought a blender on Fb Marketplace for $5. I think I spent $20-30 on seafood and have barely put a dent in it. I'm going on 6 months of use and my fish are fat and happy.

I bought this mold also and because I have a small tank, one cube a day.

DIY only for me. $20 for flat of frozen vs $6.75 for flat DIY. Plus mine has all the goodies I want in it:)
