Food for small hippo tangs

I've just gotten 2 small hippos (three days ago) from an online provider, one is the size of a nickel the other is about a quarter. They are much smaller than I had expected. I have heard at this size they are very hard to feed and therefore have a bad survival rate. I have a culture of baby brine shrimp and they seem to be striking at the live stuff. I can't really see if they are eating the bbs or not. I have mixed up some reef chili and lrs reef frenzy into a squirter bottle. Trying to feed something three times a day. Also got nori tied to 2 rocks. They don't seem to be interested in the nori. Any suggestions on nutrition for small hippos?

Wow.. I would suggest finely blended Emerald green frozen food. had Mysis and greens in it.. might help them convert to hitting the nori.. would still keep a continuous supply of it. Do you have red or green nori? suggest green. I have had one very small just over a quarter sized hippo. about a year ago.. was able to get it to double in size.. I also had feeding problems.. Tank size may be an issue. I kept mine in a ten till I knew it would feed.

The above was what I did with it.. maybe large pods.. ?? Dont think I can add anything more but hope any of this is useful.

Nickel sized sounds like a problem with the seller.. way too small to be selling IMHO.

For the BBS,,, lower or stop flow when feeding.., you should be able to tell if they are eating it that way.

I feed emerald feast frozen to my orange shoulder and rest of display tank. Didn't think to grind it or fine blend. The orange does not eat the green nori just plays with it. So I've Got a whole pack from BRS. Currently got them in a 10 gallon quarantine, keeping them there for a while. Good call on stopping the flow.
