What does everyone feed their fish to get the best coloration out of them, I heard Cyclopes are pretty good

Frozen foods are good but foods treated with added vitamins and amino acids and such are much better. Foods like Rod's Food or LRS Reef Frenzy have made my fish look much more amazing than they ever were at the fish store or in any public aquarium :) You can also take frozen foods and treat them with Selcon or Selco Booster

You talking natural coloration? It has always been my view that the fading of fish colors in captivity is mostly about diet (though it can also be a lack of females). I have found that using foods with higher concentrations of carotenoids to be helpful in maintaining natural colors - so calanus, cyclopeeze (the old freezer bars were excellent, but mostly unobtanium these days) and reef plankton are all pretty good. I also feed my fish massago roe, and don't really worry about the dye that is added in. I'm less of an advocate for added vitamins and the such; mostly unnecessary if you are feeding a balanced diet.

Maybe I should switch to Masago so my clown turns back to its vibrant orange again hah.

Ive been buying the san fran bay brand bc its pretty cheap, but Masagos even cheaper.

Yeah, I buy these tubs of it from the local oriental grocery (along with bulk nori). When you have 100 fish, bulk helps.

Live/fresh foods, along with Foods rich in amino acids. I feed LRS, Live White Worms, Fresh Clams, and Even Squid in occasion. Keeps all of my fish colored vibrantly. Obviously if you have a fish like Tangs, Rabbit fish, even a handful of Angels, you need greens. Nori, or lettuce helps keep them vibrant and healthy.

This feast also helps picky eaters start eating right away. I have had many butterflies start eating that are known to starve in captivity.

I agree that LRS Reef Frenzy would be a good choice (it also has the benefit of being basically an all in one diet for carnivores and omnivores).

LRS "Reef Frenzy" all the way ;Woot ;Woot

:)

I bought Capelin fish roe recently, and spent a lot of time rinsing it out, trying to get the orange dye out, do you rinse your masago or just feed directly without rinsing

I tried rinsing it out initially - didn't seem to make much difference and a lot of it went down the drain. Now I don't bother. Been feeding it unrinsed for a few years now. In fact, the only foods I bother to rinse anymore is the PE mysis. Even that is probably unnecessary.

Simply Nori. It has everything in it.
