Foot long bobbit worm

Try to face the entry point more towards the rock if you can.
It may take some time, but you will catch it.
The trick is to use a bait that has more body to it and can be easily removed the next morning and not using to much.
You could get a couple of shrimp or possibly squid from your local grocery store.
I learned this method many years ago when I had a particularly nasty tempered Mantis shrimp that came in on live rock.

Oops! Should have read post #20 first.
That is actually a good thing.
He has learned where food is.
You can now probably put the trap anywhere and he will go to it.

Turn it around with the entry point facing the glass. He will find his way in.

So you actually watched the worm go halfway into the bottle? Why didn't you just snatch him up while he was out?

Hes way too fast the second I get near the water he bolts or any kind of light

The worm is not a bobbit worm or hopefully not beacaues bobbit worms will get much bigger and are found in the wild its most likely a bristle worm

I recamend not touching it u will get stung so wear gloves and don't cut it the pieces will just grow into more worms

Try removing the rock and getting it before it escapes into another if there are pieces remove them and despose of the worm

Any way it won't attack ur fish as long as it has food because the are scavengers I have some in my tank about two inches long but they are good for the sand they break up matter help clean up

And everyone they are not bobbit worms bobbit worms are carnivore they won't eat coral and go in the sand waiting to strike up at large fish and bobbit worms don't move things to their liking because they live in deep sand just so every one knows the large ones in our tank are bristle worms

This is why I only purchase DRY rock. Muriatic Acid bath, and cooked and cured for 5 to 6 weeks. No chance of hitch hikers in my tanks.

But how do u get all of the snails and microorganisms in there if its not live rock I think live rock is worth it

Snails and hermits are bought. Microfuana and bacteria are seeded from retail supplements or from a healthy existing tank with no pests.

Live rock still has its merits and some times you could get good hitch hikers like ... coral...........,............................................................

That's why I dip and inspect all corals entering my tanks. Plus I remove as much rock as possible the coral is attached to. Then glue it to my rock :)
