Hey all!

I know thats a aloud of topics up there but I need a few answers and hopefully I can get some here.

First: I just changed my salt from reef crystals to Fauna Marin? anyways, all my torches look swollen, is this normal?

Second: I have a pink tube anemone that is turning brown on the inside, is this bad? what does it mean? It was thriving before, and now it doesn't fully extend.

Third: I had an aiptasia on one of my rocks with a blast on in, so after days of research I tried the calcium and lemon douce mix, shot right at it, and well it curled up, I am hoping I got it, and hoping it didn't destroy my tank by doing so.

Any help would be so greatly appreciate

can you post any pictures for items 1 and 2?

What are your Water parameters by any chance?

Salinity .26
Calcium 460
Alk ( kinda high, working on it)
Nitrate 0
Ph 8.2
Mag 1400

Simple answer:
Your torch is hungry and starving

Not simple answer:
Euphyillia (Aka your torch) like more of a dirty watered aquarium. They like to have nitrate and phosphate present in the system. With that being said your torch is the first to tell you out of 90% of other corals that their is a lack of nitrates and phosphates in the tank. If I were you I would bump those nitrates to around 5ppm and Phosphates to around .1ppm-.25ppm.
0 nitrates and phosphates are a thing of the past. Newer research has shown that LPS Coral, such as euphyillia, like small amounts of these two elements in the water. @randyBRS did an excellent episode on this exact topic. It to long ago on the BRS YouTube channel. Hope this helped! ;)

Awesome thanks!

How do you propose I do that? Do I not use a skimmer?

What are you doing right now to remove Nitrates? Common examples, Refugium,BioPellets, skimmer,Vodka or other dosing.

Well I have a skimmer, but it just stopped working so I am getting another one.

I have a refugium no bio balls yet.

I would either. Feed more or you can dose Nitrates and phosphates. I am not sure what the product is called. Maybe #reefsquad and @melypr1985 can help me out here.

Oh yeah, okay! I'll definitely try it. Thanks for your replies. I found an aiptasia in my refugium this morning so I just took it out . Hopefully I got it lol.

I'll do another test today and see exactly where I am at.

Thank you :)

I would spot feed, and feed more. I use a blend of frozen in my system and feed twice a day. Some do dose spectracide to bring up the nitrates:)
