It has long been known about the mirror trick for helping reduce aggression, but I was wondering how it would work to take a fish you might be interested in adding to your tank and placing a video of one right next to your tank to see how your established fish respond. For the experiment I used my established Coral Beauty Dwarf Angel (been in the tank for just over a year) and a video of a Flame Angel. Unfortunately it doesn't tell us how the Flame Angel would respond but it does give one an idea of how the established fish would respond without having to go purchase the fish first. Here was the result, for those who are interested:

If any of my fish act up I will now roll up a flat screen with shark week reruns to keep them in line lol

I know for sure that works. My tank is in a big open living area and I have a projector in there. Should've seen them bolt when I hit the scene with a great white breaching to grab a seal. They also clearly disappear when anything is shown with the color red. Can't imagine why. :D

There are a few tricks us hobbiest have been using for years

Most of these tricks really only work for new fish added to a tank

When ever you add a new fish all the other fish we try to put that fish in its place

My sohal tang was so bad it was bullying my other 10 tangs

I finally took it out. Next day my powder blue put a 2 inch gash in my yellow tang. Guess he was showing the rest of the tangs. I am the new boss

I get that. My Melanurus has been a lot more assertive since I got rid of my Yellow Tang, although the assertiveness is pretty much limited to my Blue Star Leopard Wrasse.

.
Why would having us spray your neighbor’s cat help with our respective fish Tanks?
Probably because our fish don’t like being sprayed with fresh water?? Lol

Funny I was thinking today about how to make the back of a tank look natural and how cool it would be to have a flat screen that covers the entire back of the tank playing the reef episode of blue planet 2. Wander if doing that when new fish are added for a few days would help with aggression?

Are there any sharks in that segment? :D

Tried a similar experiment with my established wrasses and a Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse:
