For those who have sumps that splash

Hello everyone,

I currently have this bag covering the wood from getting splashed on but I find it annoying that I have to change it every 2 weeks or so. I have it double sided taped to the wood so it stays in place and was wondering if there’s a better way to cover it?

Filter sock usually when it gets almost fully dirty, bubbles start forming and when they pop they just splash all over the wood

I hate it, I’m usually cleaning it every other day now cause the plastic retains the drops of water so I have to dry it off before it becomes salt creep

Directly into sock, emergency back up drains directly to first chamber

Sounds like the sock location sits high in the sump.

Yeah, can’t see in the pic but if the drains are submerged as they should be, no noise and no splashing.

Yeah unfortunately it’s how the sump was designed and I can’t adjust the height of the sock

But what about the drains? Can you extend them so they go further into the sock and be submerged?

No it’s a bulkhead that’s screwed on both sides and also superglue them on

This. Even just sliding some PVC on the end of the drain lines (if they are soft).

I tried them for a week but didn’t like how dirty my sump got in only one week. I usually take out all equipment and clean every 2 weeks with these

It's glued on the wet side also (below the sump line). Usually dont have to do that.

Or even hard plumbing. Add a coupling and a length of pvc. This way you can remove to take the sock out.
