for those who paint their pvc pipe

For those of you that have painted their pvc instead of spending money on the pvc already colored

I am using the Krylon Fusion to paint mine. Would i need to sand every pipe in order for the paint to stick? I'm thinking the answer is yes

for those of you who have painted, how has it help up with sanding / no sanding?

You shouldn't need to sand anything. I would just wipe it down with a wet paper towel to remove any dirt or grease.

scuffing lightly to introduce micro scratches can't hurt. If you're wiping down with a towel, just wipe down with something like 200-400 grit. I have no experience painting pvc pipes but have painted quite a few plastic trim pieces in cars.

I didn't sand. You can achieve the same thing by wiping them down with nail polish remover. Just use a rag or paper towel and saturate it with nail polish remover or acetone and quickly wipe down the pipes. If you want white pipes, you can stop here; if you want to paint the pipes, they're ready to go once dry.

Krylon Premium Enamel - Modified Alkyd Enamel

I was looking at Schedule 80 fittings todo my return but they're really expensive so I decided to use shedule 40 and paint them with Krylon fusion.... but Menards didn't have it... They had Krylon Premium Enamel for $10 less... I got it and called Krylon; the nice lady that helped me stated...

So the Krylon Fusion For Plastic Paint is discontinued and nearly impossible to find. Some sellers are charging upwards of $30 per can but I don't want to buy old stock that will probably splatter out of the nozzle. Need to paint PVC pipe assembly that's going over the tank to make it...

I've called the company about the replacement line of paints and verified they're the same.

No sanding, though a 180 grit wouldn't hurt. Just give it a good wipe down with isopropyl before spraying. For note, either of these will perform identically on PVC. The Fusion and Color Maxx lines are an identical color match.
