Ok a few months back I bought this frag from an unnamed store. It was an awesome, ice blue color.

Now it looks like this. (mega growth but kinda brown and not so great looking).

Upon investigation I found out that the guy keeps his frags under a 1000 watt bulb in about 12 inches of water. I only have 400's. Could this have something to do with it. Do you think it's just bleached out in the first pic and now it's healthier. It has grown like crazy, it's just a little more bland than it was.

mag 1400ish
if any of this helps

Nothing to worry about man thats just what sps does. Everything looks diffrent under diffrent lights. It may not have been at full color when u bought it

It looks perfectly healthy. The lighting could very well be the difference in color, though. I used to 'control burn' my SPS with just 250W DE AB 10K's. The color from the bulb was yellow (think 8K) and I couldn't keep LPS in the tank, but acro coloring was really nice once they got adjusted. The parts facing the light were brightly colored, while just around the edge it turned brown. Higher light and/or higher K bulbs can give better color in many cases. Acclimation can be more difficult under high light conditions, though.

I agree with everyone else looks good and different lights I bought and still have plenty of coral in my tanks that looked good at the store but with the different lights changed the colors alot as long as it is growing you are ok.
